This adventure provides an amazing opportunity to experience Uganda’s wildlife by trekking with both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in their natural habitats. It’s important to be in good physical condition and ready for moderate to strenuous hiking during the treks. To protect the animals and their environment, be sure to follow the guidelines provided by park rangers. Additionally, booking your permits and accommodation in advance is essential, as spots for gorilla and chimpanzee trekking are limited and in high demand.

Itinerary day by day

Day 1

Arrival in Entebbe

Upon arriving at Entebbe International Airport and completing the immigration process, our safari driver will greet you, provide a brief overview, and transfer you to your accommodation. You can rest and prepare for the upcoming adventure.

Day 2

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After an early breakfast, you’ll meet your safari guide for a brief overview before starting a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The journey may take several hours, depending on your starting location.

As you travel, you’ll pass through beautiful landscapes, local villages, and might even spot some wildlife along the way.

Upon reaching Bwindi, you’ll check into your lodge, settle in, and have a delicious dinner to prepare for your upcoming gorilla trekking experience.

Day 3

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

This is the most anticipated day of the trip—gorilla trekking day!

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the rangers, who will provide essential information on the rules and safety guidelines for gorilla trekking.

You’ll be assigned to a specific gorilla family group and guided by experienced trackers. The trek can vary in duration from 1 to 6 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas.

Once you find the gorillas, you’ll have an hour to observe them in their natural habitat, watching their behaviors and interactions.

Be sure to maintain a safe distance and follow the rangers’ guidelines to ensure a respectful and sustainable wildlife experience.

After your trek, return to your lodge to relax and reflect on the incredible experience with these magnificent creatures.

Day 4

Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you’ll head to Kibale Forest National Park, known for its chimpanzee population and other primates.

The drive takes about 5-6 hours through picturesque countryside.

Upon arrival, check into your lodge near Kibale Forest for an overnight stay and get ready for chimpanzee trekking the following day.

Day 5

Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale and departure

Enjoy an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee trekking rules.

Chimpanzee Trek: You’ll set out into the forest with experienced guides to track and observe chimpanzees in their natural habitat.

Encounter with Chimpanzees: Spend time with the playful and intelligent chimpanzees, observing their social interactions and behaviors up close.

Departure: After the trek, return to your lodge to check out and start your journey back to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or onward travel.
